With extensive expertise in transportation policy, I adopt a forward-looking approach, recognizing the crucial role of transportation infrastructure in sustaining livable, equitable, and connected communities.

About

Heather Marx is a public service leader with three decades of expertise in strategic planning, policy development, and implementation architecture across many public policy areas, with a particular focus on transportation. Known for her strategic acumen and decisive leadership, she has a proven track record of delivering effective, impactful solutions in complex, high-stakes environments.
 

As Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Seattle Police Department, she developed a comprehensive three-year strategic plan designed to enhance transparency and responsiveness. As the director behind the $175 million West Seattle Bridge Safety Program, she successfully guided the project to completion under budget, earning widespread acclaim for its efficiency and effectiveness.  Heather's extensive experience across various policy areas and government branches has equipped her with the expertise to navigate complex challenges and achieve results. .
 

Beginning her career in public relations and legislative roles, Heather quickly established herself as a strategic thinker and effective communicator. Her contributions to public service have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named the 2022 Woman of the Year by the Puget Sound Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar. Heather remains a key influencer in shaping policies that drive meaningful change.
